Electives and Co-Curricular Activities

Mid High Electives

This year we will be offering electives for the seventh and eighth grade students only. We will offer these electives on Friday afternoons from 12:40 to 1:30 p.m. Students will be able to choose from the following electives:

French- Bonjour! Beginning French will teach the basics of speaking, reading, writing and understanding French. French culture will also be explored as well as learning about France and other French speaking countries.

Drama- Beginning drama will include skits, public speaking, speech, and “human videos.” Our drama team will work together with our Ministry Team to minister to area camps and churches.

Worship Team- Worship is an important part of our chapel times together. The Worship Team will lead us in chapel worship on Friday afternoons as well as ministering with the Ministry Team.

Journalism/Yearbook- Our yearbook team will be responsible for assembling the yearbook for the school year. This elective will also include journalism and creative writing.

Art- This fine art activity teaches the basics of drawing, color, perspective, and understanding art. This is a great course for students to explore their creativity.

Mid High Co-curricular

Ministry Team- This group will be actively involved in community ministry through music, drama and service.

Student Council- Our Student Council will be responsible for student government, service projects, “Meet Me at the Pole,” and “National Day of Prayer.” Service on the Student Council is a privilege and an honor based on scholarship, service, citizenship, character and leadership.

Service Hours are the responsibility of each student. Sixth, seventh and eighth graders are all required to have 50 hours of service for the year. Students will have the opportunity to earn SOME of these hours through school service projects. Each student is responsible to turn in their service hour slips to the office.
