New CAP Administrator: The School Board of the Christian Academy of Prescott is proud to introduce Susan Dandos is the new CAP Administrator. Susie holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education degree from Grand Canyon University and a Masters of Education in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University. Susie taught for many years in public school and five years here at CAP, and brings her enthusiasm, exceptional leadership and tender heart for God to this new role. We are excited for the future of our school under Susie's leadership!

Registration for 2010-2011 School Year: CAP and CAP Preschool registration is underway. Register early and get a discount on registration fees. Registration packets for new
students are available in the CAP office.

Parents of 6-8th Graders: Please remember that your students need to have 50 Service Hours by the end of the year. Their accumulated total was noted in their recent Report Card. If you have any questions regarding your child’s Service Hours, please call the CAP office.

TRIP (Tuition Reduction Incentive Program): The TRIP Scrip Center was closed April 5-9. Orders placed 4/5 may be picked up this Friday, April 16 in the school office. (Orders will only be released to parents or authorized students.) Today’s orders can be picked up Friday, April 16 as well. Next order date: April 19. Please put in box outside CAP office.

Parents: Stanford Testing will be taking place next week: April 19-13. Please make sure your child is well-rested and has a good breakfast and lunch. Thank you!

Yearbook Blessing Blocks: Let your favorite student, teacher, staff, board, or PTF member know how much you appreciate them: Write a Blessing Block for this years’ CAP Yearbook. You may choose a photo and text message or a text message only. If you have any questions, email Starla at sthompson@cap-prescott.com. Blessing Block forms went home in the Monday Folders. More forms are available in the CAP office.

Your CAP School Board: Our CAP School Board now consists of Vince Carr, Audrey Fredstrom (CAP Grandparent), Mike Scigliano (Chair), Angela Sell (CAP Parent), Bev Swanson-Aylward (Vice Chair, CAP Founder and former Interim Administrator) and Jerry Winkleman (FBC Deacon Representative). Additionally, Gary Carman (former Administrator) serves as a Special Advisor and Chris Inman (FBC Prescott Senior Pastor) serves in an ex officio role.

Welcome, Dr. Braley!: We are pleased to announce that Dr. Jim Braley will be serving as our Interim Administrator, beginning February 1, 2010. Dr. Braley’s Christian education experience includes 12 years as a 6th grade teacher, 13 years as a School Administrator, 9 years working for ACSI, and 20 years as a part-time Professor in the Education Departments of Azusa Pacific University, Biola University and Baptist Bible College. Dr. Braley has led teacher in-service training in Korea, Germany, Mexico, Romania, France and the Soviet Union. He wrote a number of Christian Education books, including the Character Foundation Curriculum.

Dr. Braley and his wife, Faye, live in Cottonwood and attend Verde Baptist Church. We expect that Dr. Braley will be at CAP 2-3 days a week for the balance of the school year. We hope to provide opportunities for you to meet Dr. Braley. Please take time to welcome Dr. Braley to Christian Academy of Prescott.
