Staff & Faculty


Administration

Pam Hodson has a B.S. in Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University, a Reading Specialist Endorsement through the State of Arizona, and a Educator certificate through ACSI. She has been teaching at CAP since 2005, and is currently teaching Elementary Art and serving as ACSI Coordinator.

Lissa Howard is certified for dyslexic evaluation and tutoring. She worked in the preschool for two years, and this is her fourth year tutoring dyslexic students.

Renee Keeling is beginning her fifth year as part of CAP's office staff. She is knowledgeable in all the functions of CAP and CJA. In the past she worked in the daycare program.

Melody Thomas-Morgan is in her third year at CAP and serves in the CAP office. Melody holds a degree in B.A. in History from UCLA.

Elementary Teachers

Kindergarten - Arlene Claussen has been teaching for 35 years. She has been a part of the faculty at Christian Academy of Prescott since 1993. She has a Master Certificate in Nursery Education from North Orange County Community College, a Certificate of completion in Teacher Evaluation/Clinical Supervision in conjunction with the Professional Development program, two certificates for participation in workshops for Developmental Placement for grades K through third, and 5 ACSI Professional Continuing Education Unit Certificates.

First Grade - Melanie Goldsmith is a CAP alum recently graduated from Northern Arizona University with a dual major in Elementary Education and Special Education. She holds an Arizona teaching credential and is pursuing an Educator certificate through ACSI.

Second Grade - Susie Dandos has a B.S. in Education from Grand Canyon University, and a M.A. in Education from Northern Arizona University. She is credentialed through the State of Arizona and holds an Educator certificate with ACSI. Prior to becoming part of the CAP staff, Susie taught in Phoenix for several years. She has taught Mid High Math and this is her third year as CAP’s second grade teacher.

Third Grade - Jennifer Kuebler graduated from the University of Arizona with degrees in Secondary Education and French. She is currently attending Northern Arizona University to obtain a master’s degree in Multicultural Studies. She holds an Educator certificate with ACSI. Jennifer taught in a charter school for 2 years and is in her second year teaching third grade and French as a Mid High elective.

Fourth Grade - Sarah Benbow received her degree from California State University in Monterey Bay in Teledramatic Arts and Technology. She received an Educator certificate through ACSI and is pursuing a Master's Degree in Education. Sarah taught in the International School of Monterey Bay prior to coming to CAP and begins her second year of teaching fourth grade and Drama as a Mid High elective.

Mid High Teachers

Social Studies- Judi Miller has a B.A. in Social Science from Boise State College, and an ACSI Educator certificate. She has taught at CAP for fourteen years, teaching music and Social Studies.

Math - Gwen Jahnke has a B.S. in Management from Arizona State University and a M.Ed. in Educational Leadership through Northern Arizona University. She holds an ACSI Lifetime Educator Certificate. This is her tenth year at CAP, having taught PE, Language Arts and Math.

Science - Matt Howard comes aboard this year as Mid High Science Teacher. He holds a BSBA and MBA in Finance from University of Denver, as well as an Educator certificate from ACSI.

Language Arts -Jennifer Bernstein holds a B. S. in Elementary Education from Towson University in Maryland, and is ACSI certified. This will be her first year teaching Mid High Language Arts at CAP.

Music - Clyde Score has a B.A. in Music from Prescott College, and an Educator certificate from ACSI. This is his third year teaching music at CAP. Prior to coming to CAP, he worked for fifteen years teaching music at Primevera School. He is widely known in the Prescott community for his musical performances.

Physical Education - Lila Thelen has an Associates Degree in Recreation from Fayetteville Technical Institute, and is currently pursuing a degree in Physical Education through Northern Arizona University. This is her fourth year teaching P.E. at CAP.

Computers - Starla Thompson has an AA in Nursing, and is in her final semester of classes for a B.S. in Elementary Education through NAU. She has taught computers at CAP for five years, and will be student teaching in our second grade class throughout the first semester of this school year.

Art – Meg Funk has an AA in General Education in the Arts from Pima Community College. This is her fifth year teaching Mid High art.
